The last time I joined Weight Watchers was in high school. They made you go to meetings and weigh stuff. They did not have a website then.

(That doesn’t make me feel old, typing that. Nope. Not even a little bit.)

Speaking of that website: it’s a very nice one. Where eDiets has slowly but surely slid into a misery of adverts and locked pages, the Weight Watchers site is refreshingly clean and Flashy. My designer self approves.

Tomorrow morning a man is coming to my house to tell me if he can mow my lawn, and how much he’ll charge me for the privilege. It’ll be an appalling waste of money. It’ll be wonderful.

The problem is that I really…really am not good about arranging these sorts of things. There is a decided weight around my neck when it comes to stepping outside my routine — like getting my hair cut, my car’s oil changed, arranging for someone to come tile the bathroom. I dread these things. I would rather work or sleep or go home and cook something. And so I put them off.

But I know once I find a good lawn service, I’ll be deliriously happy. It’s just that right now, I am dreading how much it will cost, to say nothing of having to talk to someone.

Oh my god. I am exactly like that. I hate having to talk to people, and I avoid things like haircuts and pedicures because of it. It’s because I’m so socially awkward and always feel like I say things that make people look at me like I’m nuts. I have to force myself to deal with the general public.

Oh, that’s so cool, sis-o! A gardener. You’re gonna love it! I had one when I was preggers with Cyd and it was fab…the grass was mowed, the shrubs were trimmed, the tree was pruned. Almost (but not quite) as good as having a maid!!

BTW I am leaning towards Jenny Craig. What can I say - I always liked that Valerie Bertinelli =P
