Whenever I’m stressed out about something in my personal life, my quotient of good deeds skyrockets.
In the last two days I have:
- Finished and delivered the ultra-pink scarf of doom that I was knitting for Sara that she didn’t know about. (And just as we get our last cold snap. Goodness!)
- Written my brother a cover letter that caused him to leave me a voicemail proclaiming that I really should get a job doing nothing but writing cover letters for a living.
- Baked a dozen strawberry cream cupcakes for Karen’s party.
- And prepped another two dozen buffalo wings for the same.
- Plus some onion dip, fresh cut strawberries, and sliced apples.
- …and ranch dressing.
- Fixed a major security issue on my aunt’s site.
- …on my day off.
- …without having coffee first.
(Ironic, actually, since the site sells coffee.)
As a treat-to-self, I’m planning on going to aikido tomorrow and then going to see Grindhouse with the lads. I am also thinking of a massage on Sunday because Massage Envy (warning: crappy newage music alert) is having a $39 first time customer special. For a one hour session. LE SIGH.
Final note: Alton Brown won a Peabody. It is a proud day for food geeks everywhere.
Special weekend addendum: If my tax return is big enough, I am buying myself a hank of this.
