Why the heck does TurboTax think I’m going to pay $45 for their web filing when I can get the same service at TaxAct for $30 less? Yeah, TaxAct isn’t as pretty, and it’s a little cludgy, but still — dude! $30!!! That’s a dinner at Macaroni Grille and a movie and a book. Oi.

Is it a sign of my insanity that I tallied up my taxes at two different online vendors? Inquiring minds want to know.
Beer cheese in the fridge. I used Jeff’s homebrew for the beer portion, but I think I went overboard — it’s a little grainy. Ah well. It still tastes good.

Hmm, we used TurboTax. It caught a couple hundred dollars we wouldn’t have ourselves. Briefly considered filing the state tax stuff ourselves since the fee was (A) more than federal and (B) almost as much as the refund, but laziness won that battle
